Most funny support characters in anime?

but most of them are protagonists for me. may be usopp in one piece. cavendish too. lol

I'd say the show mascots tend to be this for me. They tend to have these dorky out of focus shenanigans while the main cast is discussing something serious and that trope seriously makes me laugh. Like the guys talking about how to stop the imminent war against the alien invading and you a little guy trying to steal a snack from the coffee table in the background but is too short so it fails and then when it finally gets it, the pet bites it instead of first taking the wrapper on or get something inedible instead. I know it is corny humour. I love that kind of no-dialogue, slapstick humour rewarding you with you a little story.

I am racking my brain trying to think on a character as a example, but I hope at least the trope is well known that you know what I mean.

and when it's matched with innocence like the little kid, it can give us relief from the intense pressure of the anime situation

Most of the protagonists are funny like you said but I can't think of supporting characters being funny.
