More recognition for anime

Do you feel that anime need more recognition?
There aren't many people around me who know about anime and many of them don't like to give it a try.

it needs more fanbase but you can't force people to accept it when they don't like it at all. you could talk about anime here and be satisfied with it. asking for more is never good

Anime is already pretty mainstream now and still growing. As for people who don't want to get into it is fine, cant force people to do something they don't have any interest in.

Well like others already said, there is no point in making people watch anime.
If they don't want something, then it's their choice. Anime fans are increasing by the way.

It's growing but people are dropping anime too and I don't think it is getting counted. I am not talking about forcing but wanting them to move their childish thoughts for a minute and thing or give it a try.

But they can understand anime and would stop making fun of otaku.

do you know how many people are prejudiced? i saw a survey recently and many people in that don't even know that anime is different from cartoon and there are genres for anime.

It's that archaic notion the community had you know. That anime are not cartoons, and calling them cartoons would somehow be demeaning and insulting to the artistic value of anime.

No actually. 7-8 years back.I used to feel like I was part of this cool secret club who knew about the existence of anime and got to meet a lot of friends over it and used to just talk about it for hours. Even though It wasn't nearly as secretive as I first thought it was the feeling that counts.

Naturally it needs more attention, which thanks to Toonami back in the 90s is the only reason its as popular it is right now.

Hopefully one day it becomes mainstream.

You don't want anyone to know anime man?
I like the secret club too but I want people to talk to me more about it.

No not anymore. Being popular is good for the industry and the people making it.
