More anime with hopeless situations

Is it just me or are we seeing more and more anime, with hopeless situations like the promised neverland, attack on titan and such?
(_ _) Animators shouldn't think of only sad stuff   :sigh:
What do you guys think?

Well, but it's bad.
People should have some humor as well, but unfortunately, we don't see that in these anime ._.

Then watch a comedy, there is nothing I hate more then a good and serious story ruined by forced humor.

I would rather not watch gintama just because it's supposed to be funny

everyone don't want to laugh and have a funny bone clara.
some anime and manga try to make you remember them through tragedy. if you don't like all the darkness, take a break from them.
 
There's this thing called genre and preference and if you don't like watching something instead of complaining. There's lots of anime every season with elements of what you are asking.
One Piece has comedy because it's not a life-or-death situation for them every day of the week, whereas the people in TPN and AoT are in danger every moment.
