Mainstream shonen's author works

I don’t find it rare to find quality stuff that’s not surface level popularity. I like a lot of stuff that’s second or third tier in popularity, but that doesn’t take away from quality.

I think a lot of bias against non-surface level popular stuff is a combination of laziness, and the mindset of popularity is a sign of quality.

i can't refute that
i agree and a lot of manga deserve an anime too but there are too many manga and it's very difficult to find good quality work. most of the time, it looks like a copy work. i have come across a lot of that in shonen ai genre and i have read thousands of manga from that genre.

Maybe you need to branch out into other genres. Shonen Ai is not exactly known for being quality or diverse. It’d be like me complaining that harem manga are all copied and pasted.

it's just a personal preference of mine.
i think you are right too and a lot of works depends on the genre too. only action genre get good quality plots, if you ask me.

I get bored with a lot of action series, I have fun with slower stuff.

slower stuff can be very boring
i tried this sangatsu no lion anime, it was supposed to be very good. but it's just too slow for me.

We could have worded it better
I don't think it's easy for people to accept all the author's work is only for a single manga. We understand it's difficult to come up with good work but it's just fun. All those statements don't mean actual harm

That’s not what I meant by spite, the spite was referring to scrounging for faults because you dislike something. Kinda like going “I hate this brand of ice cream because... the box is blue.

that was funny
but what you say is right and it's just human nature to complain a lot when they come across a little discomfort.
