I'm guessing that many people here don't celebrate this or lent but there might be someone that does. So I don't know much about this stuff but I do know that during lent you are supposed to give something up. @angel do you celebrate this? What are you giving up chick?

i don't totally follow abstinence entirely and i do eat eggs.
some people say i shouldn't but i have been having them for all my life and it's difficult to change

What's wrong with eggs though?
When on a diet the best thing to have is boiled eggs or at least it's what I have found in my research
 
I don't really follow it, seems kind of dumb specially since you're not suppose to eat meat on Fridays. Which last I checked most of us need meat.

eggs become meat if you let it grow
so people believe that you shouldn't eat them. but i need them.
else i can't even work properly

Hmmm
That's the first that I have heard of that thought
I like eggs..i mix all sorts of things with them and they are delicious
I like experimenting in the kitchen once I have no one to bother me :)

eggs are good but we shouldn't have them for this event.
i am doing this all wrong and i always had trouble with words

Well since it's part of your customs I guess it makes sense. Even when I fast it's from all fresh and meat and alcohol

that's interesting.
i don't pay much attention to things like that but i have to and my family used to do it since i was very young

I see same here. I guess that though religions may be different there are certain similarities

they are different except for the solid core
but it's fun to know about how it's done elsewhere

it's nice to know then but people coming from backgrounds with strong religious ties are different.
they wouldn't accept anything easily

Yep that's true I guess but that still won't change my perspective on things

that's good to know.
but people who are raised differently might change their opinions fast. no one can say nothing to it

Yep, my kid's dad's family tried to turn me once but I think now they won't try again :)
I respect everyone and I think that it should be that way in all cases
The sister at the convent that I attended was kinda like that but she use to allow us to celebrate everything in some way or the other
She was pretty nice
 


not really bashing, just my thoughts on it. I've also talked to people who back in the day would work a lot and would have to eat something more filling than what fish or eggs would offer.

you must have had it rough trying to explain your beliefs
people are like that and they try to make people change in one way or the other, which is just weird to me
