Itachi vs Pain

I am not sure, but, if Rinnegan is susceptible to Izanami, then, Itachi has a chance of winning.... Plus, Itachi is better at strategy and tactics..... But, thing is, Pein has the Rinnegan...... It's the most powerful of the Dojutsu..... If we are gonna consider Itachi, without his disease, then, yes, think Itachi would win......
 
hmm sure is an interesting question I'd vote Itachi if he was at full power but otherwise pain.
 
well this is a tough one, i would say itachi as is he highly strategical and im sure he would figure out a way.

it would be a long battle indeed.
 
I thought everyone would say pain. Am I the only one thinking that pain is only just next to naruto. How come itachi is that powerful?

Even without his disease he only got a simple mangekyo sharingan. Not even the eternal mangekyo sharingan and it's power is limited. He said pain, not just nagato. So, we should consider the possibility of 8 bodies here sharing the rinnegan.

Full power? Like I said in this post, itachi isn't that strong. We all saw how he died and all. Just taking down orichimaru got his killed .

I will go with itachi as I have never seen him lose in a battle before and his strategies even with a powerful opponent like kabuto, are good. 
He is also a genius and knows his limits.
 

A simpleton like Naruto defeated all the six paths of Pain.... Itachi defeated Kabuto, another genius level ninja....

I don't think you can say that naruto remained as a simpleton in that pain battle, madrauchiha. He displayed good intelligence i n figuring out the strategies of pain.

Really? Go and watch the show again..... When he attacked him with his last rasengan, Pain was standing there like a statue, while he could have easily dodged it(I'm implying that it's plot armor).... He displayed some

After obtaining rasenga, naruto stopped acting like an idiot and he became a hero for konaha.

Agree with the latter part, he did become a hero, but, he became less of an idiot, than not being one........

I don't remember such a thing but you have to admit the way he used the shadow clone jutsu and distributing them among many other groups in the great shinobi war is not a strategy you expect from a simpleton.

Itachi will.....just because of his wits and wisdom.
no other reason..
in terms of raw power pain has the upper hand
 
This is a tough one, Itachi is considered one of the strongest sharingan users of all time, but Pain/Nagato has rinengan.  I could see this one being a tie, perhaps Itachi winning.  And I say that because when they were re-animated, Itachi did defeat Nagato.
 


He did accomplish things that are impossible for his peers. Do you know that luffy's stupidity is so close to innocence where as naruto's stupidity is just like forced acting?

Here is the reason why I he could never beat pain:
He got tinnegan, the ultimate jutsu. He can manipulate bodies and he can share his rinnegan with them. Fire and other jutsu's itachi use can't effect dead people and the way he comes up with strategies, the way he movies his pawns can easily defeat itachi who is just a sharingan user.

Kabuto is just a pawn of orichimaru. He is never the big ninja and he can never beat anyone like the kages or highly skilled ninjas.

Nope, he can.... HE attained perfect Sage justsu, something Orochimaru never did..... Yes, as far as scheming is concerned, Orochimaru is equally good...... Oh, and btw, Itachi defeated Orochimaru in seconds.....

Him acting in an immature way doesn't mean that he is a bright ninja..... He has always been a slow learner..... And, yes, he has accomplished things that most of his peers can only dream of, but, he did that mostly through hardwork, and plot armor, and not because he was bright.....
 

That's an indirect defeat senpai. He defeated kabuto and nagato in rinnegan was unstoppable. In a way, he did defeat nagato but that's not his actual power.
