Is it illegal to download manga?

i want to ask this for a long time.
is it legal to download manga or is it illegal?
i usually right-click the image and click the save button, when i like the manga a lot.
i don't want to get in trouble, so please tell me x(
 
The websites that contain manga don't have the license or legal permissions to show those pictures, so, it's actually illegal for you to see it, let alone download it......

Nope...... It's the website's fault, yes, for having manga content, but, it's your fault to open and access it........ So, you are breaking the law.....
 
Strictly speaking, saving Manga scanlations is similar to downloading music for free. You know you're getting something you should be paying for so yes, it is illegal. :/

Sometimes scanlations is the only way to get to read some manga at all, because sometimes there won't be an official publication in your language.

some websites ask for subscription but some are free. so i thought it's okay to download those images. x(

That's like saying I can go to any country without a visa or a passport even though I live on the Earth........

If you use something without giving royalties to its owner its illegal so yeah in a way downloading manga and even reading it without paying for it is illegal. But then again there are different copyrights for each manga and different laws in each country for that sort of thing. Downloading licensed stuff is illegal basically but that kind of thing happens everywhere all the time...

Look, you can continue reading manga from those websites, and you won't get into any trouble..... The only difference is that now you know it's illegal........
