Introduction about anime

How many of you guys know what "anime" means? (I know that we all know what anime means a bit too well :D )

Well, anime is nothing but the anime made by Japanese people. There are all sorts of anime which belongs to various genres. (well, if it isn't for that, anime wouldn't be this popular now)

I love action genre. There are thousands of anime streaming websites out there(even though anime streaming is illegal). If you ever need to give anime a try, feel free to do so(pick any anime streaming site, I would personally recommend gogoanime though). 
Also, I would recommend "Death note" anime which consists of around 30+ episodes to all the newbies :D


So what is your introduction about anime for others, everyone? 
 
This is a very good topic to introduce people like me to anime. I'm not very well acquainted with anime, but I would very much like to start and we all have to start somewhere!

this forum is open for all, my lady.
even if he dosn't watch anime, we can make him see anime sometime xD

Ah nothing, just will say that is a cartoon made by Japenese and it will be super cool
 
I never knew where the name came from, but I assumed it had to go hand in hand with the actual anime shows and such.

So shows that are similar to anime, but are made in other countries are not considered anime? For example, Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Yes. Only Japanese animation are referred to as an ime.

I checked all of your posts and this one is reasonably different to warrant not being merged. Plus it does provoke discussion so why not leave it alone.
