Actually i always associated myself as gamer than anime/manga fans. I spend more time playing game than enjoying anime/manga, i also witnessing the changes of graphic from 2D to 3D, it was such commotion back then
Anyway.. in my younger days i enjoy multi-platform game like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Shinobi and Beat em up game like Street of Rage, Golden Axe, and of course fighting game like Street Fighter and Mortal kombat. Everything change when i owned Super Nintendo, that time i got chance to play Dragon Ball Super Saiyan Densetsu which is RPG-ish and i like it very much. Then come 7th Saga which is traditional RPG, i play the game and i convinced that RPG is the best genre i ever played.
Come PlayStation and PlayStation2 era, i totally discard every genre except RPG and Strategy. I indulge myself with classy and awesome collective of RPG's. After that i got myself a PC, this time i get emulator to play every RPG's that i haven't played in SNES and Sega, because lot of RPG wasn't translated back then and even if i buy the cartridge it was too expensive because i was only a school boy when i play SNES
So what all of this have something to do with anime/manga? Well it's actually affected me because as RPG-er i placed story as the number one factor that i rate, so i'll give good rating to anime/manga that having good story. Yup that's it
