It kind of depends, some slice of life it probably wouldn't be too difficult to pick up on whats happened but something like sci-fi, which can often have a lot of unique words/terms only used in that series, would be way more difficult to figure out.

Skipping episodes isn't my thing, the only times i skipping episodes is Aki Sora

Because the main story in Aki Sora is in the first and last part of the series, the rest of it just fan service, it makes me bored
