If you haven't gotten into anime, what would you have picked as your hobby?

I play video games a bit more than I watch anime, they both go well together too. There's plenty of RPGs based around many different anime. Some were only released in Japan though, but thankfully there are English translations.

thank you but i feel like i don't have anyone who truly cares for me, around me.
you guys keep me afloat for the most part. ngl
So I know it might seem filmy but I'm still gonna say it because it's one of the most important things I needed to accept and learn in order to make myself stronger...the most important love that you need is SELF LOVE. Here's what I've learnt. No matter who showers you with affection or love and no matter where you gain acceptance if you personally, within yourself do not love you, it's all useless. You must always be your biggest supporter and your biggest fan.

role-playing sounds fun

Well, I can certainly teach you (or anybody else for that matter who's interested). It's actually pretty easy to do. The hard part is finding people who are disciplined enough to commit the time to play, to stay engaged.

One of the reasons I enjoy Play by Post gaming is because I don't have to witness the other Player's distractions in real time. It's frustrating to me as a Game Master to be dumping creative energy into sharing a story with a group of people around a table, and those people will be goofing off on their phone or just not paying attention-- and it infuriates me when I have to explain something to catch them up in the same session because they weren't paying attention in the first place... but I digress.

Play by Post allows for a group of people to come together and just write a collaborative story, whenever there's a free moment (I'm talking about forum based role play, not Discord based role play). If you're like me and get tongue tied, or simply don't like the sound of your own voice, typing text is a God-send. You can sit with your words and edit until you're happy with what you're written. You can write descriptive paragraphs of detailed action, have a character monologue (which you can do around a table, but the other player's will probably get agitated and board, and call you a Spotlight Whore, or something.). Or you can be as brief as you have energy for (like me for right now). A simple statement of dialogue, a single action beat-- just as long as there's something added that allows the other Players to tag along and add their own character's interactions.

And there's so many different styles of role playing too. Much is based on the Game System (for example, Dungeon's & Dragons, versus Girl By Moonlight or FATE Core or RoleMaster)... and then there's just Free Form, where the group isn't using a System at all. In fact, there's a lot of role playing games, especially online that use this mechanic, because rolling dice can be cumbersome online. Some of my best remembered games were Free Form-- especially the first games I ran, because I didn't know what I was doing, and I just winged it.

Anyway, I've rambled long enough. I gotta go make some bagels. I got a bunch of fresh herbs yesterday so, I'm actually excited to kneed some dough this morning...
