If you can upgrade one character in One piece, who would it be?

I am not sure.
All the characters are fairly powerful and it's unlikely the support characters could ever surpass the main protagonist in terms of strength.

This might sound out there but I would upgrade the Thousand Sunny. I'd give it more fire power and more armor and a better more sustainable propulsion system to assist with the sails. The eps covering the demise of the Going Merry and the acquisition of the Thousand Sunny show that the ships are characters themselves.
