I want to improve Naruto, of course in my version

Make him normal man.
No one likes the overpowered characters and it won't be any fun, in fights too.

At that point, they should be thinking about surviving and nothing else.
They encountered a monster and they do know who that is but they did fight and helped each other survive

Is it? Haha.. that was i thought. Sasuke want to clear the exam and getting stronger right? I'm not seeing Sasuke want friends at that point, or maybe i failed to see it?

Survive as a team. I'm sure Sasuke will abandon Naruto if they are on different team

You did yes. He previously saved him when they fought Haku and Zabuza as well by almost risking his life.

I'll take a look once more. That event.. i thought that it was for clearing the mission too, because with lot of member the probability to clear the mission also high, that was how i read Sasuke
