How's your relationship with your parents?

Do you have a good relationship with your parents or is it toxic? My parents both love me for who I am, they've always been super supportive of my sister and I. I talk to them around the Holidays, I want to see them in person again soon since it's been a while since I've seen them in person. My mom prefers to talk on the phone so I make sure to give her a call to talk about life.

it was downright bad and i haven't talked to them in decades.
they always disapproved my choices and think i could never make it in life. they are right but at least i survived lol

i know you feel lonely and want to have people and family again. try to communicate with them slowly

They have done their best. I know they care about me and for the most part I'd get defensive when people suggest anything negative although as a grown up I have seen how some stuff might not have been the best. But no one's perfect. They show me they care. I hope I can get to see them again before we change decades. Kinda hard when I live on the opposite side of the world.

They are gone now but our relatiomship is kinda weird. Yes, they are kind to me but our relationship is kinda fake, they are too 'formal' to me, and me? I always lied to them, i was such 'good boy' at home, but that just a mask
