How much knowing source material affect your experience when watching

how would you receive it? i am sure everyone will have their own prejudices.

I don't usually watch anime for the manga that I have already read.
It doesn't make much sense to me, unlike I like that manga a lot and wanted to see the adaptation to give my imagination a better view.
