I know they are not as long as in the states and I think they air after the anime ep.

Well if you see the run times on episodes, they’re about 24 mins, so like 6 mins of commercials in a 30 min time slots. Also you see where the commercial break would be on some fansub episodes, because some of them don’t clip out the stills they show before and after the commercial break.

Demon Slayer left them in because it’s at least cool art, and some harem shows have some... PLOT and BACKSTORY art for their commercial break stills.

but it depends on each anime series too and if it's too popular then obviously the commercials are more.

Maybe they’re trying to drag it out because they gotta find ways to drag out the amount of episodes.
