How important is it to you that anime is accurate to its manga counterpart?

KyoAni often does a good job of changing things up to suit the medium better. Since I don't read a lot of manga I don't care all that much.
My biggest issue with one to one adaptation is that they don't cut down dialogues in the middle of an action scene which are clearly put to make manga readers visualise a fight better.

A lot of the slice of life comedies are better in anime form, especially if it’s based on a manga with short chapters. Some of them either flesh out the scenes and/or they arrange the chapters in a more “coherent” nature. Some of them have really random chapters, so going from anime to manga can be kind of jarring when it’s all over the place.
Teasing Master Takagi-San has a superior anime adaptation. The anime original scenes show actual progress in their relationship. Then they re-arrange the chapters in a way that makes sense. The manga has no sense of a timeline, and you’ll see them talking about school ending for summer vacation, the next chapter is summer, and the chapter after that has them back in school, then a few chapters later they’re back on summer vacation.

I think the biggest problem is that people get too black and white about it. They saw one bad adaptation and it soured their experience so bad, they swear off of it forever.
Most people complaining about anime adaptations of manga tend to fall into one of two camps. The first one is what I just mentioned. They saw one or two bad adaptations and therefore, all anime adaptations are bad. The second camp are primarily overzealous fans who think every chapter in the manga is 100% crucial to the plot and skipping anything ruins any cohesiveness to the story.
The thing is that this isn’t a black and white situation. There are examples of shows where they skipped over important chapters, and some where these chapters are completely benign.
Honestly, the most common issue that people gloss over is that a lot of anime adaptations are only a season or two long, and they never cover the rest of the manga. So if you want to complete the story, the manga is the only way.
There’s also a lack of fact checking on claims, so you see a lot of people over exaggerating, or straight up bullshitting things. There’s a lot of “I know a guy who knows a guy, etc, etc, etc” going on. It’s even more egregious in fandoms based off of light novels, since that’s a smaller community, as not many people enjoy reading novels off web pages that are just glorified txt documents.

A bad adaptation and that itself is subjective and just because a person feels that it's bad, doesn't necessarily mean the others share the same opinion and people fail to recognize this. They just want their opinions to be heard and they don't want to get opposed by anyone.

If the story is good and they don't get too weird with it or ruin the story I'm good with it. It's when they start F$%king with the story and start adding stuff that has nothing to do with the story that I get pissed. Full metal alchemist and Hellsing are good examples. With Full metal the first anime they did changes direction halfway through because they ran out of volumes to fallow but they did a decent job closing it out. Hellsing's first anime on the other hand beyond the first episode or two goes so far off in left field that it is not the same story at all. Taken as a stand alone it's ok but compared to the OVAs that were done later and to the manga itself I can understand why fans were so pissed about the first anime adaption.
i don't know much about hellsing and i can't comment on the manga lol.
if the story goes completely off the track and still it's good enough. even then will you dislike it?

That's a tricky question. With my OCD nature I will most definitely be upset with it going off the rails and will talk about it anytime the show comes up. On the other hand IF what they have done is NOT total garbage I can like the story on it's own merits as a stand alone. So I guess the answer is yes and no.
lol and that's a little hard to understand for me.
i can't really understand if someone were to like and dislike the same story of an anime.

That's where it gets tricky. I can if its not too badly done like the new story but still be mad about changing the original story because no matter how good or bad the alternate story is I WANTED to see the original story.
i think i get it a little.
if it's someone's original story then yes they need to have the right to complete and choose the ending.
