How important is episode 1 for you?

I personally developed a 3 episode rule. If it doesn’t grab my interest by then, I’m no longer interested.

I should probably implement this as well but I remember Hitman reborn anime. It picked up after around 75 episodes

More like it had taken me 75 episodes to even believe that it could be a good action anime.
After that, story and everything else picked up for me

I don't think I would have bothered getting to that episode count. I would have stopped ages ago.
