How and when do you decide to drop an anime?

if it's got too much of anything then i would like to drop it
and if there is some comedy aspects involved then i would wait a little for it to become better

If it's getting too boring and if I can't put up with it anymore, then I would want to drop it.
There is no way I am watching a boring anime.
