Hmm....just an idea

Bad idea. It's always good to go with the main characters of mainstream shonen anime, and maybe a couple of niche but well respected anime, like Legend of the Galactic Heroes. And, important anime from other genre, like Eva or Gundam for Mecha.

1: that'd be very unappealing to new members if they don't like certain characters,
2: explain how this would work? there's a limited amount of characters to use.

if this is the case then why not create a personal theme for every single user you tagged.

i wasn't being sarcastic, it is very much possible but then we'd have many themes, also we should probably get rid of un-used themes,

Nah...we should have them, so that people can enjoy whatever they want. They could change things if they get bored ^^
I do change my themes often.

MyIPB and game one are definitely not needed at this current time, UNLESS we're able to change the themes OF gameone and instead of gaming images they can by anime, then it would be possible to satisfy your request on having a bg for characters we all know and love. Cause not going to lie i do like the one piece theme it would just need to be optimized

I use one piece theme, when I am using my laptop but it's not at all mobile friendly. At that time, I forgot to ask the developer to make the theme a mobile friendly one ;_;

The spelling while using a Japanese keyboard is:
TE KU NI KA RU SU WA KO

Make sure you type it out in all lowercase letters, and don't use the space button until you've typed it all out, or weird shit will happen.
You'd see something like this before pressing the space button:
????????
