Great ED from this season's Kaguya-sama

Kaguya-sama is an on-going anime from Winter 2019 and you can find out more about it on MAL.
So it put out this new ED in episode 3 and it was just great(and obviously blew up on the internet).
It's the animation/video that's impressive by the way.
It's the actual 1:30 length video.

No they made someone dance and did roto-scoping(basically like tracing). Also the guy who made this is an ex-KyoAni animator and they are a talented bunch.

Weird I have no idea how that would even work. The dress would just be a big shifting blob with no depth.

I came across the tweet of the artist by chance so it was rotoscoped. Rotoscoping is basically projecting onto a screen and drawing over it.
The fabric was probably done post. Although I have zero knowledge in animation so my guess is as reliable as any layman out there.
I mean something like this is probably more impressive since it was actually animated:

I've spoiler tagged it because it messes up with the alignment in the mobile view.

Rotoscoping makes fluid animation much easier to do so this one is significantly harder to do as smoothly if you're drawing every frame.

Yeah that sounds about right. Also those 4 people dancing aren't in-sync so they were individually animated as well.

Yeah well that's why I linked the video itself, the audio is a typical moe cute song.
The Opening of the anime however is extremely catchy and funky.
 
that song is not very catchy but i liked seeing her in that red hat.
it looks really good on her and that dress moving isn't very strange

The song is not the greatest I agree but I posted it for the visuals.
