I am so glad Sekiro won. It is the best game I played this year. It is haaaaard, mega brutal and unforgiving and I died many hundreds of times but I loved every second of it and never once did I think about giving up. The COMBAT is literally the best combat I've experienced in any game and the reason it is my game of the year too. You might think the difficulty is off putting, but the combat is so good that you literally have to just get better to beat it as it is one of the only purely skill based systems I've ever played. There's many people who haven't beaten it after months of trying which is all the more reason you will feel like a god when you beat any boss ESPECIALLY the final one. Even the theme, the aesthetics, visuals, the feudal japanese setting and everything makes it a treat to play.

My second favorite which came a close second was Control. I already made a thread about it https://myanimeforum.net/thread-24615.html
It won best art direction, I would say it's pretty well deserved because it was probably between it and Death Stranding which isn't out on PC yet.

I can't comment on other games I haven't played that much but do make it your mission to play these 2.
