I personally recommend it, its a nice show/manga for anyone to start with, or even hard core otaku.
It has a great plot line, every otaku knows about Fairy Tail

I've watched the first few episodes of the first season and I have to admit, I really liked it so I highly recommend Fairy Tail to anime watchers ofcourse if you're into that type of storyline.
