Expert in anime

I don't but I came across many people who thinks they are experts in anime discussions

There's some subtopics and certain anime I would say yes to. But not on anime as a whole.

just like someone said above i can be an expert for some anime but not all of them.
i don't even get to watch many anime

i would call myself a little of an expert in bl genre.
i have covered many manga and read thousands of them. i have to call myself something for it

It depend. One can be expert on one title but clueless on another title. Depend on their interest and how much time they invest on a title.
