Evil counterparts of one's own self in anime

It's weird and interesting for me. O saw this in so many anime that I have lost count. We even saw this in one piece recently. It's foolish but you can't reason with mangakas
 
It's like legend or history. People tend to back down in things with counterparts. One should improve themselves if the hidden meaning for this and anime makes use of that quite a bit
 
I haven't seen a anime series put this concept to bad use, whenever it is used some really decent character development comes from it.
 
Decent character development is good but the same old trick gets boring and old, if everyone keeps on using it. I would rather see something different and good for a change
 
i rarely see this in anime. usually people don't always like seeing the same face for the anti protagonist in any anime and even i wouldn't like it at all. so, this is new to me.
 
Just to clarify this, one's own counterpart is like doppelganger and with powers. They are not created by natural means but by anti protagonists
