i am thinking about this for quite sometime.
are there any elegant anime out there?
my friends said that i lack the charm and asked me to watch some elegant anime.
i don't know what they meant.
did you get what they mean?
were they insulting me? ;-;

People always think their taste is the best and tend to dismiss other people's taste or interests as being inferior or wrong. People need to understand not everyone likes what they like and dislike what they dislike. You don't need to change anything, tell that person to grow up.
Anyways anime I would maybe call "elegant" are Code geass,Bakuman,Shigatsu kimi no uso,death note,fate zero,hellsing ultimate, phantom requiem for the phantom,

hellsing ultimate is elegant?
isn't it too gory my bro?

there are some elegant animes, but nothing new a lot of older titles that I can't remember their name. Sailor moon could be considered one.

Elegant in what way? Are they referring to the characters' movements or how they dress? I don't understand what you mean by 'elegant'...

Good question =) Of course calling a show elegant doesn't mean anything by itself, you need to specify what meaning you are putting into this adjective. I kinda expect a show would need to give certain sense style, it should not be too bombastic, over the top, too fast or too emotionally dark. For example FLCL just oozing style, but I hesitate calling it elegant. Same deal with Hellsing OVA, Garden of Sinners (though this one is a real candidate). Macross: Do You Remember Love is at the very least visually elegant. I don't know, but yeah, good question =)

FLCL is the name of the anime =) Its not an abbreviation :P

Try either Garden of Sinners or Legend of the Galactic Heroes, those are the closes guesses I can make =) By the way, those series are so very different, its almost funny how they managed to fit into one suggestion =)

Yeah, this is what I also think about this thread. Anyway, you shouldn't care about the others's tastes. You should take suggestions but not "orders" from them!

I think that if an otaku is really an otaku and he/she is really proud of being so, won't ever listen to what the others think about him/her.
This is the first rule I imposed to myself when I started watching to animes. I think you better do the same thing or you'll end up dying for those little kids.

otaku is a bad word to use and a weaboo isn't a good word. we better not label ourselves and if we do others would take advantage of it. i don't fucking care what the others say too
