Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist vs. Harry Potter, the boy wizard who lived from the Harry Potter books and movies.

Who wins?

If Harry has the will to kill, he can use the Killing Curse, and if Edward's will isn't strong enough, he can very well use the Imperius curse.....I mean, there are many many spells, etc. which can counter Edward's powers....

Harry can say spells faster than it takes Edward to create alchemy, right?

Well, I don't think the 'mature' Harry even needs to pronounce all the spells.....I mean, in the sixth book itself, Snape trained all the wizards and witches to cast spells without saying them aloud.....

I mean harry could kill practically anyone with his spell's but if it came to physical battle Edward would kick his ass (sorry for language) plus his power of transmutation is amazing UNLESS you are talking about the Edward whom lost his ability to do alchemy i still think Edward's physical ability's would prevail overall

Edward is a genius.
He can create alchemy and by the time harry complete his spell, edward can create whatever he wanted out of alchemy.

so, it all depends on the author.
If he wants harry to win, he will or edward will win.
As as anime fan, I want edward to win this battle.

Doesn't it usually take Edward a longer time to start up the transmutation process than it takes Harry to say a spell? I mean, saying a word (a spell is usually a word or a couple of words) is faster than creating alchemy.

i wasn't referring to anything bro xD

Yes, but what is faster: using your hands to create something (which usually takes a few seconds) or saying two magic words (which takes one second)?

Using hands. edward is athletic bro and harry is too slow.
edward abilities and attacks are powerful.
Let's ask my bro @Sindar about this XD

If you take time thinking about how this fight would go, it is actually pretty interesting. Both HP and FMA stories have this "everything has a catch to it" side, and I can totally see this fight ending in a sad way, where no one would be satisfied with the outcome...

Anyway, I think you can imagine either one winning. Thing is, in FMA Edward is a really strong fighter, and he has deep understanding of how alchemy works. Harry on the other hand is rather a normal guy. He is talented, brave, smart, but he never looked like "top fighter". But that said, if Edward and Harry were to meet, it would likely happen in HP universe (since *Spoilers* Edward was shown to be able to travel through universes, and for Harry Potter it wouldn't make any sense to live in FMA world). And I think it would make sense if Edward was in a disadvantage in that situation, cause he knows nothing of how that world operates. Dunno.

I don't remember that.
In the last episode?

How can you forget something like that xD In the end of the series Edward and his father were send to a different version of the world, the version that resembled our world at the end of 19th century. There was this conversation about how the human deaths in this world are the source of power for the alchemy world. At the very end Edward was shown making plans for using technology to get back to his world, in the same dialogue his father even mentioned Einstein.

I do remember that, but he couldn't get back to alfred.
So, he can't exactly switch dimensions at will, sindar.
