Dubbing has come a long way since I started watching anime.

Nowadays you have dubs being aired right behind the subbed episodes and they are keeping pace with the show which is really impressive. The fairy tail dub is 4 episodes behind he sub, the slime dub is only 3 episodes behind. Back in my day dubs were rare and only select few lucky shows used to get dubbed and those used to usually come months after the show finished airing unless the show was something which got very popular. And beyond it it used to be a coin flip if the dub was any good.
This lead to so many people bashing on dubs because 90% of the community had watched it in sub already and new voices would sound weird to them plus with the questionable quality people just blindly agreed dubs suck.
Now a days not only are dubs fast, but they're exceptionally good even for random airing shows which aren't super popular. And many dubs already far surpass the sub voices. People who won't agree are literally just deaf to voice acting. Just because they can't understand Japanese they somehow think that's what the character is supposed to sound like and then complain about the dub because they can understand it and can find fault in it.
Take goku's voice for example. He sounds like she should in the dub, an adult and a hero and you can hear the excitement in his voice when he's in a good fight. Japanese Goku sounds like a screaming 12 year old. Same thing with luffy but he's more understandable.

Most subs are good but they're not perfect like people want to think and dubs are on average on par with the subs now. Now that I won't be watching many if any airing shows i'll enjoy a while where I'll watch with dub which is finally a possibility.

I have stopped watching dubbed episodes a long time ago and the only anime, I have watched in dub is Naruto.
I really believe Naruto's voice actor had done an amazing job in that anime.

There's no good reason to ignore dub completely.

I don't watch dub all that much now but I used to watch it a lot man.
I don't like English openings and endings for dub but they are not entirely bad. I like Goku's dubbed voice

I pretty much agree, it's been wowing me of late how far the community has come in the last few years though I know it could be doing better. Which one of the things is the industry needs more people in it, I swear I hear the same voices in each anime.

I think the sheer lack of good quality dubs in the past made the ones that were legimitately good stand out a lot. And they all fortunately came for massively popular shows.
I don't mind watching dubs but I think they have shit sound editing and mixing even if the voice actors are good so I just end up watching the sub. Although it is impressive that Funimation was aboe to simultaneously release dubs of MHA seasons 2 and 3 in the same week as the sub.

I don't mind at all but it's probably bad for the industry if new VAs can't get roles.

Do you have evidence for that or is it just something you feel like?

Nothing factual just how I feel. I can feel that they are kinda acting well but I'm not able to catch what they say.

You're the only person I ever heard say that so it's just you it seems. I find it easier to follow the story when I don't have to read.

No actually I hate subtitles as well for like normal Hollywood/Hindi/Tamil movies I usually don't have subs. Maybe it's the fault of streaming websites because the dubs I saw were quite old.

Obviously. Though from what I understand the industry isn't exactly great in pay, which can make it hard getting new blood in.
