Dropping violet evergarden.

I'm probably just gonna wait for the rest to air and if it gets better ill keep watching.
 
I saw the first episode again with my sister, a week after it aired(I guess around Jan 19), and, well, it wasn't as good as I remember. I put it on-hold due to time constraints, and I'll give it 3 episodes, and decide whether I want to drop it or not.
Off-topic, but what do you think about Mahoutsukai no Yome(you are watching it right)? I couldn't cross the third episode, it was just too slow, and really inconsequential. Plus, while the art was great, the animation wasn't very good(and in Violet, the animation is pretty amazing).

The only reason why I don't feel that strongly about dropping it is that it's only 14 episodes long, and the visuals. But, yeah, I'm not really dying to watch it. My favourite anime of the season is A Place Further than the Universe, and it has amazing visuals, and great characters and dialogue, and is pretty fast-paced.
 
So I took a break from it and came back and decided to watch the new episodes and it seems to be picking up a bit, plus I'm enjoying the art too much so I might as well just finish it.
 
Here I thought of picking it up for it's popularity and people are already dropping it? Now, I am not so sure whether to pick this anime or now
 
I watched the first 10 episodes, and you actually dropped it right before it gets truly good. Episode 7 is a major improvement in story-telling, and episode 8,9 is when her backstory is revealed, and it was great too.
However, I enjoyed it a lot from episode 2 so maybe it's a different scenario for me.

if i pick this up, i will wait till episode 7 to drop it, even if it's bad. i don't want to watch just a pretty doll with no emotions

Time's precious and you are under no obligation to watch 7 episodes you didn't like just to get to the good part at episode 8.
As I said, I liked it from the beginning, so maybe I have a different perception.
But Violet does undergo changes every episode, and develops feelings, slowly and steadily. It's just that episode 8 is a major turning point in the story.

then i will decide after watching 2 episodes. i don't mind major plot revealings so i was forward to this 8 episodes

i agree that it's really good but it has it's flaws and with the war era, it can be even better with a sequel and violet's own romance.

I like that anime too and the art and animation are off the charts.
