Do you usually try out new genres in anime?

I really don't try out new genres.
I kinda stick to my own favorite genres like action, horror etc.
What about you guys?

I did when I was new to anime and up until maybe last year. But these days I tend to avoid anime from the 2000's decade that are adaptations of fantasy light novels and have multiple seasons, like Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, Date A Live, Index, etc. I also avoid Mecha, Harem. Lots of anime from 2000s fit into these genre and I just don't like their aesthetic.

I don't even look at genres I just look at what seems good or I hear good things about and watch it. Only things I would avoid are most romances, harems, isekai, yaoi and slice of life.

That as well yeah. For now Gintama and Dragon Ball are the only long anime I'm willing to watch. And I've already finished 200 episodes of Gintama so it's only about ~170 episodes remaining. Other than that I'm not gonna watch any anime more than 150 episodes long, at least from episode 1 although I do have stuff like Bleach remaining.

Well 3 attempts now, it's somehow getting put off, don't know why. First I stopped at Soul Society arc, then I started again and went until Arrancar and put it on hold again. Again I started and stopped in the middle of Heuco Mundo arc. I'll probably resume from Heuco Mundo again, which I guess is around episode 110.

My God. I never said I didnt' like it. Other stuff made me put it on-hold and I never got back to it. I do know who Nel is and honestly I found her to be annoying.

Why is this thread closed though? I'm opening it.

What... You dislike adorable Nel?
Well you need to watch those episodes again and it's not me.. I think.. I don't remember closing it . _.

Not really, I know what I like and I just kind of stick to what I like as I don't want to waste time on something I won't like.

I don't man
I like what I like and unless it's got too much popularity and got a story that I might like, I wouldn't pick any anime from a new genre
