Do you upgrade your devices, just for games?

I am not a gamer. I love playing normal games like plants vs zombies, 7 wonders and that's about it.

Someone actually called me a casual gamer, instead of a real full-fledged gamer :(
I have two laptops and a desktop. I have never really upgraded any device just for games. I have i5 processors in my laptops. So, it's okay for me not to upgrade :D

Not particularly for games, I just upgrade my device whether there's an official new one out, or I update the games from the app store.

Yes. You can't upgrade a laptop so we just bought new ones every few years.

Getting a desktop instead is cost effective.
Laptops are fragile when compared to desktops.

So? I'm gonna be using them like a computer not sitting on them.

Unless, it's a business requirement, I don't see the reason why people choose them.
Well, I suppose everyone got their own preferences.

Why would you want a portable computer that you can take anywhere and use for your work and entertainment when you travel and you can use without a power supply for a while? Is it so hard to figure out?

I only upgrade my device if I'm noticing performance issues or if the battery is going shot. So at best mine last about roughly 4 years.

Only if the device is beyond repair, like I had to get a new phone recently because no one would fix my old one. As for my computer I built it 4 or 5 years ago and it still holds up to this day I can even play on my 2K monitor with no worries but as I play more modern games I gotta lower the settings a little to keep the frame rate up but that never bothered me.

Like star said unless you need to have a laptop for work when you travel I don't see how it would be necessary. I mean how often would you need to travel to justify getting one over a desktop, I know some people have living situations where they need to move around constantly but if we are talking about traveling on holidays I think it is kind of pointless to bring one for leisure activities I'd rather do stuff at the place I'm on holidays at and that is coming from me someone who spends every waking moment I am home on my computer. If you're upgrading your laptop every few years a lot of people just get a desktop and laptop which is what I've don't but that laptop mostly collects dust I don't even think I've turned it on this year.

I'm sure you and I have different situations and a laptop works a lot better for me. At least till I settle down for good.

Yeah well its all whats best for you. If my PC broke tomorrow and I had to use my laptop it wouldn't be the end of the world since I don't really play any games right now but I would miss my big monitor.

They probably aren't very good if you're constantly buying new ones.

you might be right
but we get them very cheap and it's good to play with them while they last

Just because they're cheap it is a bad way of looking at at. Lots of small cheap purchases add up over time.
