Do you think the arcs of One Piece are repetitive?

Well, almost all the arcs of One Piece have these things in common:
The Straw-hats go to a new island.
They find out that there is a problem(either with the administration or their member or member-to-be) in the island.
They then find about the island's dark history.
Then, they fight the antagonists, and save the island or one of their crew members or a member-to-be.
Then, they celebrate and move on to the next island, sometimes with a new crew member.

For, example, the Alabasta arc and Dress-rosa arc are strikingly similar, except that Doflamingo has more character development, in comparison with Crocodile.

So, do you think the arcs of One Piece are repetitive?

because OP is a shonen manga, thats what all shonen manga do. Hero group goes some place new, faces a problem, they face hardships and then overcome and go off somewhere new to rinse and repeat.

He must at least try a new way of story-telling..........I mean, the result is almost always obvious: Luffy will fight the most powerful guy, Zoro the second-most, etc., and they'll win and save the island........

they are always repetitive but there is a good chance that it would change after kaido's battle.
they will move towards raftel and getting information about ponyglyphs

at least it is starting to seam that Luffy won't always win and make a difference.

I'd have thought after the time skip they'd at least be focusing on the big stuff and major villans by now.

That is indeed the case.
The only difference is the power. The antagonist power keeps increasing in every arc and so is the bounty on their heads.

I agree man and it's getting boring.
I would want to watch something and may be they should start collecting information to head to raftel. It's about time for them to take that step.
