Do you think shoujo genre deserves more exposure?

I am not completely sure.
If you like a genre that's not very popular, it's normal to think of it as underrated

No it doesn't. I'd argue Shoujo are getting to much exposure as it is right now. One of my favorite anime (The Anonymous Noise) is a Shoujo so I am not a Shoujo hater. The problem is that Crunchyroll keeps dubbing multiple Shoujo every season for political reasons, which has lead to ridiculous decisions like one of the least popular shows of the season, Anyway I'm Falling in Love With You, being dubbed instead of arguably the most popular new show of the season, I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class. It also lead to Twilight out of Focus and Cherry Magic, two shows nobody wanted to watch whatsoever, getting dubbed instead of actually popular shows like Love is Indivisible by Twins and Days With My Stepsister. So Shoujo are getting dubbed way to much right now and it's costing us dubs of the much more popular, Shonen Romance.

I would say, it can resonate with young audiences and give them some good tips to help with life.
