Do you think horror anime can actually be scary?

Personally, I've not been scared by an anime before. I do enjoy darker animes overall but I've not watched too many that are specifically horror, so perhaps I just haven't seen the right ones.

If the Anime is held to typical standards for a horror movie or flick, I can see it being scary. Though this is assuming you don't over exaggerate it, to the point of being a cliche.

pretty much this, cliches can ruin things easily.
