Do you think filler arcs are important for anime?

I get that they are used when the main story needs to be put on hold for a while but do you think it's necessary?
People don't like filler episodes most of the time and I think they do more bad than good.

I'd rather it end and then come back with a second season even if I have to wait a year or more than keep up with filler.

Not for an year man.
One filler episode for a month or less.

It's bad because it reduced the quality of the overall show.
I agree with that man but people might forget about it if the hiatus is long

Most TV shows have a year or more gap it really isn't that long there is so much to watch in the mean time people act like they will have absolutely nothing to watch unless their favorite shows is constantly pumping episodes even if they're bad.

Anime is different man.
It would lose the ratings if it goes to hiatus constantly.

Fillers are a thing of the last decade I don't know why you worry about these things. Almost every anime airing right now don't have fillers.

One piece man.
I heard that we might be getting some fillers very soon and I really don't want that

I like to think Anime might be doing better if it was structured more like western shows, new season like every fall or so. But in japan they have a core team working on anime and should a anime go on break that core team could spread out to the point they can't come back together to continue the series. Thus, filler is needed.

Anyways, some shows have benefited from filler like DBZ, Naruto and Bleach.

One Piece is an anime from 1999 though so it's bound to have fillers I'm talking about anime from this decade.

I agree that we don't find many anime with fillers these days man but you have to agree that they are all short anime.
Long anime always get fillers

Exactly my point since there's hardly anime long anime released. All the long ones are released seasonally rather than continuously week after week.

That's cool man and I know many people wouldn't agree with me, but beach episodes are filler episodes.
Many people wouldn't consider that

I don't really care if it's one episode in a 25 episode series honestly.

I agree western shows are just so much better when it comes to this and its actually kinda the opposite there where when they try to stretch out shows or add filler they usually fail very quickly.

No one likes fillers and fortunately we don't have to worry about fillers anymore.
All the short anime don't have too many fillers

that's true lol
but they have filler episodes i am sure and we need to be careful with them for sure and they can easily annoy us if we are not into fan service.

also helps most western shows aren't stuck to source material.
