Do you think females are too shadowed in anime?

I feel that way.
Not many strong female characters are seen in anime and initially they are strong but later they are just weak

Most of the time they are, even in shows they are empowered they sometimes get taken down to some low level pegs.

There are shows where there are strong female characters, most shows are catered towards guys... young guys, so you see them take a backseat.

that's something.
i haven't thought of that way but at least they should be able to get at least some limelight lol

Yeah it's a shame alright, I can't really think of many examples of anime with a strong female lead, off the top of my head. I'm sure there are some, but Grungie is right that the intended audience isnt often into it

No there's enough good female characters. Maybe if you only watch shounen actin or fanserivce shows you might think that.

but lol they are the usually big genres people pick.
and they need to make the female characters to be able to hold their own ground

I am sure young guys wouldn't mind watching strong female characters unless they are biased.
There aren't many good female characters

The average age range for the shonen demographic is like middle to early high school.
