Do you think death makes characters when more popular?

I have seen the popularity of be Neji skyrocket after his death and there are many characters who died and then became immensely popular.
Do you think it's because they died?
 
Because they are dead they can do no more, so people want to learn more about them in a way. It's kind of dumb but its just how it works.
 
Depends how they spin their death. When L died he was still shown as this genius that was watching over the show. But I can think of plenty more cases where they just fade away from memory because of no more screen time. Usually they just peak during the episode where they die.
 
it depends on how good the story is and how popular the anime is.
if no one knows that anime, then no one will know the character name
 
Hm.. i think.. it's depend on how interesting the character was. I mean.. of the character have decent back story, cool design, unique feature and memorable death, then there is higher chance to gained more popularitas after they died

Well yes.. i like good looking female characters haha..
I usually don't mind with characters who died as long as they are not my favorite characters, i still don't like the death of Neji

He looks cool, i like his eyes jutsu and his fighting style, great fighter and tactical

there are many characters like that.
even lee is cool when he went all out by opening those gates.
i don't get why neji is special for you. because he died?

Lee looks silly, his eyes and eyebrow need to be fixed
Not really because he died, i like him since he's alive

He might look silly man but he is very strong.
I wouldn't want to have any battle with him. If he can practice, he will surpass Naruto with latent talent alone

He does look silly man.
But once we see him for what he is, we can't see the funny face anymore. Don't you agree man?

I think you still don't like how he looks man.
It doesn't bother me. Don't you think we need characters like him who works hard? He works even harder than Naruto.
