Do you think anime antagonists could be redeemed if they haven't committed murder?

What are your thoughts on this? Most of the antagonists have sad backstories and not to mention that even protagonists kill in anime from time to time.
So what's your opinion on this?

why not lol?
if they hurt people then they should get hurt but if they haven't done that, why should they get excluded?
