Do you search an anime based on genre mostly?

Do you do this a lot?
I always search for anime, with genre but there are people who searches based on reviews and recommendations

Only if I'm really in the mood for a certain genre or else I try to just find something that looks good. You would be surprised what genres you like that you would never try doing this. I try not to find stuff through recommendations since I don't usually like to watch anything to similar to what I've just watched.

Reviews,MAL scores, sometimes AMVs and reading about plot synopsis are how I decide.

some amv's are good but the anime can do justice to them.
i picked pandora hearts like that and was disappointed a lot

Based on studio and popularity and word-of-mouth, people talk about stuff and you hear an anime come up again and again and you become curious and watch it.
Word-of-mouth especially for on-going anime since there's literally no other basis for it unless you are watching it for the heck of it.

i agree and if someone starts praising an anime, you would want to know more about it.

Well it's a combination of things for me, usually seasonal anime that are popular have a couple of viral clips that hook you. Zombieland Saga for example had a death metal scene in episode 1 and a rap scene in episode 2 that were phenomenal.

That's really cool to know that man.
It's been in my watchlist forever but I never had any time for it.
Viral clips are always good

It starts off strongly so if you don't have anything to watch now just start it.
