Do you make use of eBay a lot?

I have heard of horror stories but only if you don't follow the package stuff with the seller.
So, do you use eBay a lot? Or do you use Amazon in general?

I prefer Amazon with brand new items, but eBay with second hand.

Most horror stories with eBay I see are from people not looking at the seller’s reputation, didn’t read the description, or international shipping issues. Can’t do much with international shipping, but the first two is the buyer’s fault.

that's true lol
but that would be horrible for new sellers. don't you think so? and an honest new seller can't do much.

Not a lot. I use Amazon a lot more. A lot of people selling fake things on eBay

When it comes to fakes, that’s where seller reputation and item descriptions come in.

That, and it’s not hard to learn how to spot fakes, since most eBay sellers don’t sell the really good fake ones. It’s easier to spearfish the overly naive, or impulse buyers.

I've been caught out with Funko Pops. 80% of the time the seller might not know themselves that they are fake

this is something
but sometimes people need to be aware when something is available for cheap

Mind you I’m not a Funko collector, but I’m friends with those who are, and they said it’s really not hard to spot, since there’s a lot of common areas counterfeits mess up with. Which is pretty common in most collectibles.

Most counterfeit goods have telltale signs on the packaging, as the manufacturer has certain details they do on every box. Also serial numbers are usually the biggest sign on the actual product. Most counterfeits on eBay rarely get the right font.

I collect retro games, and with Nintendo cartridges, there’s spots where Nintendo is always consistent on, but the counterfeits on eBay are almost never consistent on.

Yeah that's what i mean about the post above, a lot of people don't even know they're selling fakes. I might have a couple in my current collection but have no idea

Yeah i've noticed that a lot now. But when i first started a didn't think to check. I'm in a lot of groups now so i can do legit checks on them

oh don't worry about it
and i sure if you can't identify easily, they are that well made. i am sure of that.

I use eBay regularly and never had any problems even when I've bought from small sellers. Never heard of anyone I know getting scammed and even if you did eBay would refund you.

that's cool
but they need to know the estimated delivery dates
and if they forget, then ebay can't give a refund

I use eBay on a fairly frequent basis actually - I love a bargain so buy most my household furniture etc. off eBay (things like tables, chairs etc.) Find the platform reliable, safe and some real bargains exist on the platform, which I love :D
