Do you judge a genre after watching one or two anime from it?

does it happen to you often?
i am sure we all have our likes and dislikes but some anime can be really good.
 
I go by baseball rules and do a 3 strikes and you’re out rule. Unless a show in question is an outlier in the genre, the genre is going to get pass on by me in the future.

sometimes those anime can be popular only because hype.
 
I think 3 anime is a good count.
Not everyone would pick an anime without knowing much about it and gong through reviews.

If there’s a genre you feel is tired with everything being the same, one that switches things up can be nice.

that's true lol
and i think sao should be given some importance for making the isekai genre popular.

You’d have to be pretty out of the loop to not think SAO blew up the genre, that and most of them copy the tropes from SAO.

didn't it start the isekai to become even more popular. sorry lol . and usually i don't follow many genres.

and yeah you are right. i didn't read it properly and usually people get mad at me for that. i need to change this habit of mine.
 
Well, I wouldn't say I'll outright judge it, but at that point you're definitely going to have some first impressions which may or may not turn you off digging deeper into the genre.
