I hated it back in the 2000’s when all of the irl anime fans were people you didn’t want to deal with. They were the typical neck beards who wore trench coats and fingerless gloves. Idk how that became a fashion statement among weabs.
Then the online community was annoying, because they either only watched the same 12 anime from Cartoon Network, or if they didn’t, they were too focused on either gatekeeping, or crying about first world problems like subtitles not being in their preferred font.
Though after it’s gotten more mainstream, I like being a part of the community because I can just no normal fan stuff, like just talking about shows and characters I like.
