Do you distance yourself from your childhood anime? Or do you embrace it?

lol
and i wish we could really look into each others brains.

that could end badly for both parties alot of things should stay on people's minds

People are complex.
Yet they try to make themselves look like cool people and anime fans can be extreme too.

I wouldn't call 14 childhood(which is when I started watching anime) and I was obviously not yet developed emotionally, but the ones I watched back then still remain at the top for me to this day, i.e. Death Note, Steins;Gate and FMAB. The one I connect to the most is definitely Naruto, in spite of all its flaws.

Nostalgia resonates with me a lot, things I watched a lot during my childhood still remain my favourites to this day, such as Harry Potter and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

You were very young.
I am surprised you got the entire plot of Death note at that age. It's too complicated.

It's smartly written sure but it's not rocket science, it's pretty easy to follow.

I guess people didn’t know that Death Note was in Weekly Shonen Jump alongside Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc, which means Death Note was targeted to like 10-18 year olds.

The same people went back and created Bakuman, which has an arc about them writing a version of Death Note(and changing the ending). It also ran on WSJ

Bakuman was pretty dope. Right when I finished reading the manga, they announced the anime.

I'd happily watch Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon again. They were the 2 animes that were regularly on TV as a child

It’s always entertaining when I see people acting like that with entertainment that’s targeted at a mass audience, but scoff at the stuff that’s actually targeted at what they’re pretending to be.

lol that's nice
but that's how people are and the moment you point that out, they are going to come at you, from all sides.
