Do you distance yourself from your childhood anime? Or do you embrace it?

I don't really mind my childhood anime.
I really like Heidi but these days, I don't think I can watch such a slow anime. What about you guys? Do you feel the same?

I don’t distance myself from anything, it’s not like I was the only kid that saw most of those shows.

If I don’t talk about a show from my childhood, I either forgot about it, or never liked it to begin with.

Distance or embracing, eh? I've never felt the need to hide what I used to watch growing up. For staryers back then it was more limited and when it was dubbed to Spanish I didn't even know it as anime at the time. That being said, as you grow up tastes change and not everything I enjoyed then I can like now. Heck, someyimes I am not sure why I enjoyed somethings I did.

Since you mentioned Heidi, I used to watch the cobdensed version a lot when I was home alone. Sailor Moon, The Zodiac Knights, Captain Tsubasa, Dragon Warrior and Wizard of Oz are some of the oldest I can recall. Then there was the dragonball/Z/GT, Ranma, Mikami, Dr. Slump, Escaflowne, Card Captor Sakura, Hamtaro... and oddly enough The Secret Garden. Some catchy music they had, haha.

I also remember Sandy Bell and Candy Candy but I couldn't get into those even back then.

that's a good one
we can't help it if we like something a lot and we can't keep on defending it if we don't like it

yup best mindset to have when talking to others about things you love that sounds really negitive now that i read it back, but it's true

yes and when they diss those things we get to take then personally.
thinking back it's not like we are doing it deliberately but we can't help it
