Death Penalty

So today i talk with a lady who vehemently want to abolish death penalty. I was thinking that death penalty is needed, yup it's necessary because i do think death penalty is justice, it's fair.

Like.. when someone killed your family member would you satisfied with 10 years jailed for the killer? I'm not, it's not a justice for me, in 10 years the killer would be free and my family member stay died

The lady ask me : am i confused justice and revenge? Well yes in the right circumstances, revenge is justice, when someone punch your face then you punch their face back, that's fair

Well it was interesting but it didn't last long haha..

i don't think people would have any problem with this.
just don't mention any country and i think death penalty is good for killers. they don't know the value of life

But the lady insist to promote her idea to abolished death penalty. And yes it's fair

I agree that it needs to be kept around, nothing like having some kill your family (or insert bad crime here), get shipped off to prison for the rest of their life and live off of the tax money that is collected from you and many others. It is just not right.

Yup it's doesn't seems fair

Staying in prison seems worse than death for me. I mean you could suffer in prison for decades but death is instant.

people cling to life.
some people who is very good can get out after some free years. i don't think it's very bad

hmmm that conversation must have been quite interesting. I personally find that especially with the way crime is these days that the death penalty shouldn't be gotten rid of. Some crimes are just not worth forgiveness and in many cases even if they are forgiven they would just go back and do it again. A lot of criminals out there just see jail time as a vacation and personally especially for crimes like rape and kid's tortue and murder I think there should be no second chances..then again it's just my opinion

I firmly believe it should be used and not even as a "most extreme level" of punishment like now. Like we need a few worse punishments for the few that deserve it.

Here in my country (Colombia) we don't have death penalty, the last execution was over a century ago (1910), we don't need it to punish people that commit murder, mostly because we believe people can change.......................also, what they do in prison with that kind of people, they wish the death penalty still was a thing here, jails in here (unless you are a politician or have a looooot of money) is the worst thing that can happen to any human being, so i guess they pay with something worst than death XD

people don't always change
their sins wouldn't disappear either. that's why we have executions.

i think i get what you are saying but i afraid of dying
i can't even imagine myself willing to die
You probably wouldn't need much convincing after spending a few days in there. People go crazy even after a few days, plus I'm pretty sure you can suffer permanent brain damage from being in isolation for to long.

I don't have any opinion on this. We shouldn't be responsible for others lives and we should stop psychopaths . Locking them up or giving death penalty might be the same thing
