Crunchyroll Price Increase

Paying Crunchyroll subscribers received an email midday alerting them to the price change, which will come into effect for new users May 1, 2019, and for existing users, Aug. 1, 2019. Prices will rise from $6.95 to $7.99 a month. Crunchyroll says it offers 90 percent of anime worldwide, a statistic that will surely decline as behemoth tech companies like Amazon and Netflix get in on the anime industry.

that is bad and it would lose many subscribers, if the price range changes.
isn't there anime available in amazon and netflix?

90% anime licensed in a specific region maybe?
Anyway Crunchyrolls library is like 90 where I live and has like 7 anime worth watching in that.

that's a deal breaker.
you could complete that in one month or two and after that, you wouldn't have anything to watch

I actually counted and there's like 13 anime worth watching in the library, and I've watched like 6 of them. 7$ for 7 anime is too expensive for me especially when I can watch it for free.

Everything goes up in price eventually and a 1.05 increase really isn't bad.

count that for an year and don't you think it's still a small amount?
i don't have enough dollars to throw around

we could have a lot more but only if they include them.
i know many people here don't have many anime available to them. madarauciha said he only got 9 decent anime in that lot

Crunchyroll's US library is huge but here it sucks.

I wonder why that is? I would think their market would be intentional since its just bringing anime out of japan.

Licensing issues. Japan is really backwards when it comes to that.

Well over a year you're basically paying for an extra month now.

i am aware of that and that's why i was saying it might not be worth it.
i wouldn't want to see people front excited and then to get disappointed

I don't think crunchy roll is worth it or any paid streaming plat form they all have a significant amount of shows that are on another service or none of them have it at all and I don't want to pay for multiple services because some don't have what I want. The only way I'd pay for a streaming server is if it literally had everything in one site but that wont happen because they're all greedy and want to be the biggest one and that is why I'll always stick to the free methods.

i completely agree but i want mangakas to support themselves too.

Well your money to crunchy roll probably wouldn't help them but buying stuff from them directly would probably be the best way.

but we can't do it directly.
it should go through someone and i get the picture that, someone who takes the money will try to make a profit too
