What I voted.

Best protagonist - Joe from megalo box. I like rimiru too but I gotta vote for the badass.
Best antagonist - Yuri from megalo box.
Best boy - Joe from megalo box

I'm not a megalo box fanboy it's just that it's not even a contest compared to the other nominees.

Best girl - I didn't vote because I won't vote in catergories I haven't watched at least 3/6 of the shows. But I'm also very dumbfounded why they put lily from zombieland saga there instead of literally anyone else?? If they did I would have voted for one of them.

Best opening- Didn't vote. And no zombieland saga Op is this a joke?

No votes for best ending, and best voice actors.

Best director - Atsuko ishizuka for A place further than the universe. 

Best animation - Violet evergarden. Not much a reason to even have this poll. Though I wonder which idiots put devilman crybaby and megao box there as nominations.

Best character design - Megalo box. As far as design goes it's the most unique among the 4 I watched. Violet evergarden only looks prettier.

Anime of the year - Zombieland saga

Best fight scene - Technically I shouldn't have voted but with goku vs jiren waiting to be dubbed and hinamatsuri in my plan to watch list I kinda just went and voted for Akira vs ryo from devilman crybabay. It was just fucking epic.

Lastly Best ongoing show - From the 3 I watched (One Piece, magus bride and DBS) Dragon ball super is the least disappointing so I voted that. March comes in like a lion probably should be the winner though just basing from what I've heard about the show.



A little surprising is no steins gate 0 at all. Really confusing honestly. It definitely should be there for opening and ending songs if nothing else. Another wtf is no Maquia:When the promised flower blooms in the films category. It's good enough to win yet it's not even nominated. I mean sure I didn't watch any of the others but if you've seen it you'll know.
 
A lot of people complained that Fireworks was there instead of Maquia, and Fireworks is apparently a pretty shitty movie.

Protagonist: Joe from Megalo Box
Antagonist: All for One from MHA
Best Boy: Midoriya from MHA
Best Girl: Anzu from Hinamatsuri
OP: Golden wind from JoJo Part 5
ED: Ref:Rain from After the Rain
Best VA: Mamoru Miyano from Zombieland Saga
Director: Atsuko Ishizuka for A Place further than the Universe
Animation: Violet Evergarden
Character Design: JoJo Part 5
Anime of the Year: A Place further than the Universe
Best Fight: Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki

Also I think Megalo Box and Devilman had pretty sad animation, and Megalo Box especially was a solid looking show.
And I didn't like S;G 0 honestly it's at best a 6/10 for me so no issues with it not being there.

But I don't really take this award seriously, 2016 was a Yuri on Ice sweep(even though it was average at best, and it was upsetting that it took the award at categories like Best Animation even though it had a lot of shitty CGI sequences, and Mob Psycho didn't win, especially with it being one of the best looking anime from this decade), and 2017 was an MHA S2 sweep(which I didn't mind, loved S2).
 
Yeah it's not about being serious it's just fun to vote and a nice topic for discussion. But steins gate's ending song Gate of steiner would have been something I'd have voted for instantly.

Yeah I caught up today. Very wholesome anime. Very funny watching episode 2 after goblin slayer. Do you understand why he has that overpowered power inside him? I sure don't.

They haven't explained it yet. Yeah very wholesome and is also animated pretty well. This is what I that Death March would be but then went to shit after its first few episodes, which is a wholesome Isekai.
 
Btw if you had to pick nomines for worst anime you watched of 2018 what would they be? I'll say Mahou shoujo site and Angel's of death. They contain enough edge to fill 2019's quota too.
 
I saw you voted for a lot of megalo box. I'm watching it now and the sound track is really good.
 
I will watch megalobox but I got burnt from assassination classroom.
I want to take a break from anime after this
