Can you judge someone's personality based on the anime they like?

I used to work with a guy who was odd and his taste in anime was also strange. He would always go out of his way to watch any anime with a extremely long name you know the weird ones like "That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime". I still need to get around to watching that one since it does seem bizarre yet interesting lol. I have to see if I still have the list of anime he recommended I watch.

I admit I did form some preconceptions of people based on the anime they loved, as many seemed to have a very particular genre and style to them.
Most of the time, most of what I inferred was that they wouldn't enjoy certain type of anime depending on what they liked. So assumed certain tastes meant very girly girl, competitive guy or someone very chill.
It was after I graduated high school I realised, a lot of people really get into different pools. Wow! Imagine that. People being complex and stuff.

Hmmm that's an interesting question, I'd say yes but only to a certain extent. Not everyone that's into dark stuff will be dark personality wise and vice versa..that's my take

It's like the more I push the more life pushes back....sighss but I'm pushing as hard as I can.
I know that things with your niece haven't gotten better yet. Thought it might have by now but perhaps it's a sign that you need to just let her be and figure out your own life. You did so much for her and if she's still ungrateful then you need to be strong and let it be.

i have focused on my niece alone and kept all my other life things on hold. never married and never even thought of kids and now i feel like i don't have anyone and the one i sacrificed for, is rejecting me and wants only money. i feel like a failure and so alone

You're definitely not a failure. Try to focus on you and building yourself. You don't need to cut her of completely but don't commit the way you used to. Choose to make time for you
