Book obsession? Or just admiration.

Well, when you read a book, the original material is not corrupted, and in the movie adaptations, deviations are bound to take place..............And, also, you have more space for character development, and you have more space to get into the author's world...........As far as soft copies are concerned, I don't prefer them...........They give me a head-ache...........

I love reading books too. But for me it is not about the feeling of holding a book, cause most of what I 'read' are audio versions. I like books for elaborate stories, for third person narrative, which is natural for books but is kinda out of place in movies, for cleaver and expressive use of language. Books can easily be more complex than movies, cause it is easier to follow a story that is written and narrated, and that adds to the experience too.

I like a good book as it always offers more than movie versions of books which are obviously cut in half. I've got about 5 books to read that I got given for Christmas so that'll keep me going for a few months if i'm lucky.

The only book obsession I had was with the Harry Potter series. Nothing has caught my eye these days.

Do you still prefer books, even if the same plot is made into a movie?

I love reading books *-*
I don't like reading soft copies though. But I do read soft copies, especially when I can't find a hard copy of the book. I am reading 'Killing Floor' and The Bancroft Strategy' right now. They're great \(^-^)/

Why would she be furious? :D

>. < I did watch the movie adaptation of The Hound of Baskervilles. It was over 5 years ago. I don't think I saw the Russian adaptation though o.O

But I am awfully picky about Sherlock Holmes movie adaptations (_ _)

Agatha Christie...I have read a book and it was a detective novel.A good one indeed but for some reason the plot is really slow-paced .

Still,a great author :D

Oh yeah, her novels are always slow paced (with a very few exceptions). That is a part of their charm I think =) Christie is pretty good at writing crime stories, but she is much better still at making little portraits of normal people. And those portraits are not so much realistic as they are consistent. So after a while you get a picture of the world as it function in Christie's head. And withing this world her stories make a lot if sense and are quite amusing. But on the other hand if you want the crime story and not interested in reading about mundane details of character's lives, then you may not find those novels to be that appealing =)

I see :D
I don't have any favorites and I am into fast-paces novels.

Nope that is not the movie I saw. Is there any subbed version of the movie available? Maybe I should check it out :3 On second thought, maybe I shouldn't. I don't want to nitpick a movie you like ._.
