Black Lagoon is probably the first show I've ever watched that's just a pure action anime, with guns, swords and hand-to-hand combat without super-powers or giant robots. I think it starts off a bit shaky, not the biggest fan of the first few episodes, but I think it gets better and better and I really started liking it. Best part about the show is easily the action, whenever there's action involved, be it car chases, shoot-outs, etc., the animation is fluid with kickass music and it's exciting to watch. My least favourite arc is probably the Roberta arc in season 1, and I think season 2 as a whole is very good. Kickass OP and a very good ED as well. The characters are great for the most part, but I never liked Rock, I got what they were trying to do with him being the fish out of water and all but it didn't work that well for me. Revy was cool. I watched the English dub and it was great, lots of swearing and very very appropriate for the series. 
Also I haven't watched Roberto's Blood Trail, the 5 episode OVA, is it worth watching? I didn't feel like watching anymore episodes.
 
So you like it, but don't want to watch anymore episodes, that is pure contradiction :P


But yeah I'm a huuuuuuuuge fan of this series. The opening is fantastic, every episode just gets better as things just get more chaotic in a good way. My favorite part is when those thugs open fire on the church and quickly rule that action.

And god yes, you must watch roberta's blood trail, if nothing else just for the ED:

No it's like I got everything I wanted out of it you know and I'm not sure if the series has more to offer. Yeah the Japan arc in season 2 went longer than I expected especially since every arc was either 2 or 3 episodes but it was pretty cool. Couldn't skip the OP or ED every episode. But my favourite arc was probably the second arc from season 2 involving the counterfeit money girl. It was a lot of fun when everyone started hunting her down, the action itself was over-the-top but it was entertaining.

Yeah it sounds good for sure but I still like the original ED more.
 

It's been a very long time since I watched this but I'll never forget the scene where the nun pulls out the golden gun and I had a (figurative) orgasm.
This is one of the animes I'll tell people to watch the english dub or don't watch it at all.
Roberta's blood trail is 100% worth watching. It's different from the main series but better with better animation. It didn't even have english dub when I watched it and it was still great.
The opening is english, did you notice.

About Rock, although he may look calm and composed and is a bit boring at times ( Although I respect his views on things which are kind of optimistic ), His character is dope in Roberta's arc.. like he knows how to fuck with people's minds

Yeah I haven't gotten around to that yet but so far not a fan.

let me put your mind to rest then. the description for this 'they killed roberta's master, now she is out to kill everyone' fully lives up to all hype.

I lost it at the point, I had to pause the show and wait for myself to calm down personally.
